Camden 4 Children

What is 'Camden 4 Children'?

'Camden 4 Children' is a new network of community and not for profit organisations who have decided to come together to explore where their combined energies can help achieve positive outcomes for families living and working in Camden.

The Camden 4 Children group aims to build and maintain a strong, cohesive children's services network that works to improve a number of key themes affecting organisations working with families, including access to and support of playgroups; professional development for workers in children's services and creating a child-friendly community in Camden.

The action group is involved in:

  • Identifying, discussing and addressing current and future needs of children aged 0-12 years and their families in the community
  • Developing, monitoring, implementing and evaluating a three year plan for Children's  Services within the Camden LGA
  • Setting achievable outcomes with regard to facilitation, planning, advocacy and service provision in children's service

The group identifies needs for quality children's services provision and facilitates creative responses through collaborative planning and partnerships. Through partnerships with government, the private sector and other agencies, the group has a strong influence on planning to ensure the health and wellbeing of our children.

Who are we?

Strategic Directions

The Camden 4 Children group has developed a three year plan for Children's Services within the Camden LGA. The plan supports Camden to become a Child Friendly Community by focusing on six strategic directions.

These are:

  • Active Participation
  • Collaborative Partnerships
  • Resources and Sustainability
  • Professional Development
  • Integrated service delivery & community hubs
  • Access and Transport

Get involved!

The Camden 4 Children group meets on a bi-monthly basis and is open to all children's services working and out-reaching to the Camden LGA. It provides an excellent opportunity for local services to share ideas, resources and develop partnerships to ensure Camden's future residents are resourced and supported as well as providing the best possible outcomes for existing residents through well networked local services.

If you are interested in participating in the network, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Camden Council's Community Project Officer on (02) 4645 5084.
