A Sustainability Education Program for Preschools

Seeds of Sustainability is a sustainability education program for preschools of the Camden Local Government Area (LGA).

Seeds of Sustainability addresses the four key themes of water, waste, energy and biodiversity and assists early education service providers in taking an active role in caring for their environment and contributing to a sustainable future in line with the Early Learning Years Framework.

As part of its Waste theme, Council’s Sustainability and Waste Team members visit local preschools to talk to children about waste and recycling – even our recycling truck comes along too!

The Waste/Recycling Talk and Truck Visit is now available on Wednesdays and consists of the following:

    • 12.30pm – 1pm     Waste and recycling talk
    • 1pm – 2pm           Up-close experience with Council’s recycling truck

    * Preschools to organise parental permission (if required)
** Truck requires suitable area to park eg preschool’s carpark with gates closed.

To arrange a booking for a Waste and Recycling Talk & Truck Visit at your preschool, please contact Council's Environmental education Officer on (02) 4645 5007 or email.
