Harmony Week, which is celebrated from Monday 15 to Sunday 21 March 2021, is all about embracing cultural diversity. This year’s theme is ‘everyone belongs’ and promotes inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.

Camden Council in celebration of Harmony Week has a number of exciting activities scheduled right across the Camden area.  Read on to find out what’s happening over the coming week.

Movie Festival

Council has scheduled a line-up of funny, entertaining and meaningful movies, each with a message that reflects those of Harmony Week.

Rosemary’s Way

Join us for the preview screening of Rosemary’s Way, which celebrates Australia’s Local Hero 2021, Oran Park resident and Council’s Cohesive Communities Advisory Group Member, Rosemary Kariuki, and the group of vulnerable migrant women of suburban Sydney whose lives she helps transform from isolation to connection.

Harmony Week Lighting

Council is proud to light up its libraries in beautiful soft orange to celebrate Harmony Week and support cultural diversity and inclusive communities.

Orange represents social communication and meaningful conversations; freedom of ideas; and encouragement of mutual respect.


Cultural Fashion Parade Online Photo Competition

Just take a photo of you, your family or your community group in your traditional or cultural

dress and enter via Council’s website.

Entries are open from Monday 15 March to Wednesday 31 March 2021, and every entry goes into the draw to win one of five $100 Cultural Dining Gift Vouchers!

Harmony Storytime & Cultural Books Display

Narellan, Camden and Oran Park Libraries will celebrate Harmony Week by dedicating their regular Storytime sessions to books that promote inclusiveness and respect.

Camden Paint The Town REaD & Orange Book List

The Camden Paint the Town REaD committee has compiled a list of books for kids about the importance of kindness, inclusion and acceptance.
