In Camden, there are a range of free/affordable programs and activities for children and their parents aged between 0-5 years old. There is great benefit in engaging babies, toddlers and children in their early stages of life in various activities that promote social and emotional development. These activities can also be a great way for parents to meet other like-minded parents, developing a support network.
Playgroups
There are approximately 25 playgroups across the Camden local government area. Most playgroups cost a small donation and can be a great way to meet with other parents, and support children to socialise and learn through play. Storytime
Camden libraries host Storytime sessions for preschool aged children. Storytime is a great opportunity to expose little one’s to the world of books, stories and libraries. Reading with your child helps prepare their literacy and academic skills for primary school.

The following safety controls will be in place inline with current Public Health Orders:
- Masks mandatory for Library members and guests aged 12 years and over;
- Regular touch point cleaning;
- QR code check in required;
- Hand sanitiser made available; and
- Social distancing in place.

The Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan
Seedlings Nature School is a special program which aims to help children grow and develop with and in nature. Children will climb, dig, explore build, engage their senses, discover and play. Seedlings Nature school is run by Educators from the Gardens who facilitate activities and experiences. Seedlings Nature School is suitable for 2.5-5 years old.
