Families Week 2024: Celebrating Family Diversity

 Families Week Poster3

Each year, thousands of people and hundreds of organisations around the country come together to celebrate families and connections through National Families Week which is held on 13-19 May 2024.

The theme for this year is Celebrating Family Diversity and Connections.

National Families Week is a time to celebrate with your family, connect with your extended family and friends, and share in the enjoyment of family activities across the wider community.

Celebrating family diversity involves recognising and embracing the unique circumstances, backgrounds, and dynamics that make each family special. Along with finding opportunities to connect beyond our differences including those in culture, language, gender, sexuality, ability, and age.

During National Families Week, we encourage you to celebrate the diversity within your family, along with the commonalities and differences between your family and other families.

National Families Week is supported by the Australian Government Department of Social Services.

Being a member of a family offers numerous joys to cherish, yet it also presents its own set of challenges.

Below, we've compiled some helpful resources that you can turn to if you're seeking additional support or wish to delve deeper into parenting and child development.
